Christian Home Based BusinessI wanted to present some Christian home based business ideas that would appeal to other Christians like my self. Some of these businesses promote higher quality entertainment and family togetherness. The following Christian home based business idea resulted from trying different things to make my home more Christ centered. Please read it with an open mind. Four years ago in church my minister suggested that we do not allow movies in our homes that blaspheme the name of our Lord. Like you I will not allow my children to break the 3rd commandment. In addition, if a guest in my home did the same I would ask them to refrain from this or leave. However, if it happens on a video or DVD I tune it out. This Sunday I took the words of this minister to heart. I became a member of a local video store named Clean Flicks. I started to only rent movies from them. This was great because not only did they edit out blasphemy but also all other profanity, nudity, sex, and excessive violence and gore. This greatly increased the number of videos I was able to watch with my family. However, in 2006 the “Director’s Guild” successfully put Clean Flicks out of business. U.S. District Judge Richard P. Matsch issued his decision July 6, 2006, ending a three-year court battle. My local video store changed their name to Friendly Family Films and started using a different editor. But they eventually succumbed to outside pressure and eventually closed their doors. Soon after I purchased a VCR/DVD combo with TV Guardian. Unfortunately though, this only takes out a percentage of the blasphemy and can not handle editing nudity and violence. Then one day I stumbled upon a service called ClearPlay. This company sells a special DVD player that works on a filter system. I can place any DVD from any video store inside the player and as long as there is a filter available it edits out blasphemy, sexual innuendos, sex, nudity, violence and gore. This is all done without altering the DVD disc in anyway. I also subscribed to NETFLIX which sends me DVDs through the mail. I go online to NETFLIX and I select a movie I want to watch. I then go over to my ClearPlay membership page and I make sure there is a filter available. Filters are almost always available for new releases and movies less than 2 years old. When I have confirmed a filter is available I go back to my NETFLIX page and I add the DVD to my queue. This way I have a regular supply of movies coming to my mailbox that are family friendly. I cannot guarantee that you will become a millionaire from this one but you might get a little closer to heaven.
